About the Federation

The Western Cape Tug-of-War Federation is the official governing body for Tug-of-War in the Western Cape province of South Africa, operating under the Tug-of-War Federation of South Africa.

We are committed to developing, promoting, and regulating this historic team sport across all levels, from schools and community clubs to provincial and national competition.

Tug-of-War is more than strength. It demands strategy, precision, discipline, and complete teamwork. Every pull requires trust and unity across the full team.

One Big Family

Tug-of-War is truly a family sport for young and old. Across the province, parents and children, juniors and seniors often compete within the same club structures and support systems.

Off the rope, we are one big Tug-of-War family. On the rope, we are at war. Competition is fierce and disciplined, but always grounded in respect and sportsmanship.

This culture helps us build character and shared purpose, not only for athletes, but also for families and communities that support the sport.

We believe Tug-of-War is more than a sport. It is a platform for character development, community upliftment, and positive social impact across the Western Cape.
